For many months there have been numerous rumors and speculations about the Nintendo Switch Pro – or whatever the updated version of the console may ultimately be called. Just recently, for example, there were reports about a possible release period for the new switch model. A current report by the business magazine Bloomberg, in which analysts and industry insiders also deal with the Nintendo Switch Pro, among other things, is now in exactly the same direction.
Accordingly, the release of the new or updated Nintendo console is planned by March 2022 at the latest – and thus by the end of the corresponding financial year. That would be a fitting date, because the Nintendo Switch is celebrating in March of next year (buy now ) her fifth birthday. Incidentally, the Bloomberg report shows the same information about the allegedly planned hardware upgrades that have been around for a few weeks and months. Accordingly, the Pro model of the console should not only have a significantly better OLED touchscreen, but also an updated chipset with more power.

However, official confirmation of these rumors from Nintendo is still pending. The company president Shuntaro Furukawa had recently made it clear that there will be no new model of the Nintendo Switch in the “near future”. However, he did not make any explicit statements about the plans for 2022, which at least leaves some room for further speculation.
