As someone whose main World of Warcraft character is stuck in a separate realm from my friends, the new WoW patch notes are a dream come true. Sure, I could afford a transfer, but Blizzard’s February 14 patch for the MMO adds cross-realm Mythic Raids for Dragonflight, meaning I don’t need to spend $25 / £19 to raid high levels with companions.
As of this writing, the list of patches on the official WoW website does not mention this change, but the Warcraft Twitter account lists a wide variety of patches that apparently were released on February 14th.
“Hotfix highlights are rolling out today: Mythic Cross-Realm Raids, Unlimited Worth & Conquest, Mythic Raz (Raszageth) adjustments, Class Balancing,” the tweet read. None of these have been fully discussed so far, but Mythic Cross-Realm Raids and Unlimited Valor and Conquest are two very exciting changes.
It goes without saying that some players start their WoW journey on a different server than others, especially since some servers have incredibly high populations or are dedicated to specific aspects of the game (PvP, raids, RP, etc.). This new cross-realm raid system is incredibly useful because, let’s face it, transferring can be expensive. So if you’re looking to do weird high-level raids (you can currently do low-level quests and together on different realms), but stay focused on PvP to match your server lineup, then this patch makes it more easy to do.
The other notable thing is obviously uncapped bravery and conquest. For those who left Shadowlands before the Valor re-release, this is a specific currency used to upgrade Mythic+ gear. Conquest is of course the PvP currency which is also used to upgrade PvP gear. Removing the caps from both will allow you to farm easier, upgrade more often, and in turn, get better gear.
The other elements of the revision such as class adjustment and changes to Mythic Raszagaeth are also important of course, but we’ll have to wait and see what exactly they are.
Until then, we’ve got a WoW Dragonflight tier list to help you choose your class and specs, plus all the best WoW addons to make your fight against the Tempest a little easier.
