At Friday’s D23 Expo, media giant Disney unveiled, among other things, a series of new game-related announcements connected to the various Disney properties. Updates for older and recently released titles as well as all-new Disney games based on classic Disney shows and Star Wars have joined the company’s roster of productions.

Marvel New Media and Skydance‘s Untitled Adventure Game

The development of this game is so early that it doesn’t even have a title, but its developers have an established concept. It is a “narrative-driven ensemble adventure,” featuring an original story set in the Marvel Universe. It’s a WWII-era setting, with Captain America and Black Panther fighting alongside Howler Commando Gabriel Jones and Wakanda warrior Nanali. Amy Hennig, formerly of Naughty Dog and a key creator behind the Uncharted series is leading the project. No platforms were announced, but consoles and PC are a safe bet.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns

In addition to new and upcoming titles, the D23 Expo Marvel and Disney Games showcase also showcased updates and re-releases of existing titles.

Disney’s recently released farming sim Valley of Dreamlight got a sneak peek at a new kingdom based on Pixar’s Toy Story in fall 2022, with plans to release a Lion King-based expansion later.

Disney’s mirror mobile RPG also got a sneak peek at its upcoming Halloween event, featuring Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas and other Disney villains.

To round things out, Marvel’s Strike Force teased the Red Hulk’s appearance next week on September 13, and Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is getting a “Galactic Edition” re-release on November 1, 2022.

The Galactic Edition launches with 13 character packs: the 7 released for Character Collection 1 and 6 new to Character Collection 2. It’s more of an upgrade for new buyers, as all of the above except for an “Obi-Wan Classic Kenobi”. owners of the original release can purchase the character separately.
