That Netflix wants to end password sharing isn’t new, and the feature has slowly started rolling out around the world. In Spain, however, the streaming giant has faced huge opposition since its announcement and it has now turned out that up to one million subscribers canceled Netflix in our country. Something that, according to Flix Patrol figures, would correspond to almost a fifth of its customers payment in the country.
These are certainly no small numbers, and it will be interesting to see if Netflix’s new password and account sharing rules meet the same resistance in other countries as they roll out. In the United States, the new regulations have not yet been applied, but with this data, a withdrawal in time would be a victory for the streaming giant.
What do you think of Netflix’s strategy?
