Battlefield

EA has confirmed that there will be a brand new installment in the Battlefield franchise due later this year. Lately there have been many reports of the new Battlefield game suggesting that the game will play in the modern era, similar to Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4. Now a new leak is stating that Battlefield 2021 will involve map-changing natural disasters.

This comes from Tom Henderson, who originally reported that Battlefield will be called “Battlefield” in 2021. Henderson tweeted on April 1:

“In Battlefield, explosions aren’t the only thing that can damage buildings and cause them to collapse. Mother Nature can do a lot more ”. Another tweet on the same thread featured images of a tsunami, volcano, earthquake, and tornado.

April Fool’s Day

Many users thought it might be an April Fool’s joke as the tweet was sent on April 1, 2021. However, on April 2, 2021, Henderson retweeted that original tweet saying, “I’m retweeted to confirm it wasn’t an April Fool’s joke.”

Henderson has been accurate with several leaks on Activision’s Call of Duty games, although it has not yet been confirmed that he is correct with the Battlefield title as there are few details about the game at the moment. However, we recommend taking everything with caution as these details have not yet been officially confirmed by EA.

Release

In March 2021, Jeff Grubb said during the Gamesbeat Decides podcast that the game would most likely be officially announced in May 2021.

This also makes sense considering EA tends to reveal Battlefield games around the second quarter of the year, as they last did with Battlefield 1.
