Microsoft Flight Simulator Top Gun expansion is postponed. We will have to wait until May 27, 2022 to take advantage of it.

Many video games come to offer new content after their launch. This is to maintain the interest of the fans, of course, and to continue to earn income. This is the case of Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The Top Gun expansion, eagerly awaited by the licensees of the driving simulation game, has unfortunately been postponed. We will have to wait for many months.

Microsoft Flight Simulator Top Gun Expansion Postponed

After several postponements, the film Top Gun: Maverick was finally to be released in theaters next November. Paramount has decided to postpone the date once again, the long-awaited sequel will not finally arrive until six months later, on May 27, 2022 to be exact, this because of the Covid-19 and the too many cases due to the delta variant.

This decision also affected the extension of the release of the Top Gun expansion of Microsoft Flight Simulator, Asobo Studio having decided to postpone the launch.

We will have to wait until May 2022 to take advantage of it

“Paramount Pictures recently postponed the release date of Top Gun: Maverick to Memorial Day weekend, May 27, 2022,” the studio wrote in a brief blog post.

“As previously announced, the Top Gun: Maverick expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator, on Windows 10, Steam, Xbox Series X / S and Xbox Game Pass will be released at the same time as the film. We look forward to being able to share more information.”

This can be frustrating news for those who have been anxiously waiting to be able to soar the skies in the Maverick jet at the end of the year. That being said, given the marketing efforts between this expansion and the film, it’s no surprise that Asobo made this decision.

The studio has also not revealed much about this free expansion. An announcement teaser simply showed fighter jets and an aircraft carrier. Who knows, maybe we will be able to take off and land in the open sea. To be continued!
