Microsoft Flight Simulator: Big World Update 8 is here, what’s next?

The Microsoft Flight Simulator has the next big patch received: World Update 8 is available for download. In a current blog entry, the developers of Asobo Studio share the patch notes – and with them details about the changes and innovations.

In the foreground of the new world patch are Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar and Andorra. With the update, the developers are uploading high-resolution graphics for the regions, including new elevation data, photogrammetry updates and environmental details.

World Update 8: This is in the patch

With the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is getting World Update 8 also donated four new handcrafted airports: La Seu d’Urgell Airport, Pico, Faro and A Coruna. In addition, there is updated data for 100 existing airports, as the patch notes also show.

Highlights of the update also include 99 sights, including the Camp Nou football stadium, the Tenerife Concert Hall and the Catedral de Murcia. There are also new bush trips and four new discovery flights.

A few weeks ago, the makers had already released the Sim Update 8. By the way, a world update for Italy and Malta is coming soon. The developers promise the largest world update to date with 18 photogrammetry areas, including twelve graphically enhanced cities. The release is scheduled for May.
