Metroid Prime Remastered technical analysis including frame rate and resolution

Metroid Prime Remastered it ended on Switch last week after a reveal in the latest Nintendo Direct, and Digital Foundry has now provided a technical analysis that includes coverage on things like frame rate and resolution. Retro Studios seems to have done a great job of bringing the GameCube classic back here, and it’s closer to a remake.
Here is the complete summary of the information:
– The game uses a sophisticated integrated ambient lighting solution.
– Zones are now much more realistic.
– The visual design of each area has been updated.
– Added new light sources.
– Existing objects in the world have been given emissive properties
– Static volumetric lighting present at many points
– Materials exhibit precise light response
– A small omission is that beam weapons generally don’t project dynamic lights all over the environment like in the original.
– Models and textures have been completely redone.
– Models now have some polygonal complexity.
– Added a ton of accessory details.
– All important parts of the geometry of the original game are represented.
– 1st person visor always fogs up and can be covered
– Water ripple effect based on the geometry of the original has been reproduced with more complex deformation into smaller puddles
– Improved surface details in water.
– One change is that the glowing domes in the Ruins of Chozo no longer reflect Samus
– Animation data reused
– The sway of the weapon compared to the original has been reduced.
– Metroid Prime Remastered resolution when docked is 900p
– 600p in handheld mode
– Unused dynamic resolution
– The game does not seem to use anti-aliasing
– Metroid Prime Remastered frame rate is 60 FPS
– No frame rate drops
– Mostly same frame rate whether docked/portable
– Almost no loading time
