Many would say last week’s biggest release was Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty from Ninja Teambut UK boxed game sales data indicate otherwise.

Unsurprisingly, Hogwarts Legacy remains the best-selling physical game of the week, as the Avalanche title has retained the position it has held since its release nearly a month ago. However, it’s barely holding up as number two on the list is now Metroid Prime Remastered, which, after its digital release a few weeks ago, burst onto the scene as a physical release.

Gamesindustry.biz reports that the Metroid remake lost to Hogwarts by just 1,000 units in total, meaning it came very, very close to taking number one in physical sales. The success also made it the fourth-biggest physical release of the Metroid series of all time, with sales down just 45% from those of the original in 2002.

As for the new Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, the game managed to place in eighth position, with 96% of its physical sales on PlayStation, probably due to the fact that the game also had a one-day launch on Game Pass, which undoubtedly affected the physical sales of Xbox. Last week’s other notable release, Scars Above, fell much lower to number 22.

Tras Hogwarts y Metroid, el top ten lo formaron (orden downente) FIFA 23, God of War: Ragnarök, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, Minecraft and Switch, and Grand Theft Auto V.

We hope to be able to bring you our weekly sales report as soon as possible (check out the Week 8 one where PSVR2 and Kirby triumphed), and where we’ll see if Samus has as many physical discs in our country as she has in the Great Britain. -Brittany.
