Released last week in North America, the physical version of Metroid Prime Remastered has visibly caught the attention of speculators, who are now reselling the game at exorbitant prices.
It was certainly a pleasant surprise for Nintendo to look back on this month. On the occasion of the last Nintendo Direct, the Japanese publisher made official information that had been the subject of rumors for several months, namely that Metroid Prime was going to have the right to its remastered version on Nintendo Switch. Even better, the game is finally out digitally, whilea physical edition also debuted February 22 in North America. And the latter, unsurprisingly, caught the attention of retailers, who are already having a blast with Metroid Prime Remastered.
Metroid Prime Remastered targeted by scalpers
In effect, Nintendo only offered a limited number of physical versions, so supplies ran out quickly. inside the different stores. But as always in this kind of business, it is unfortunately not only the fans who have managed to get their hands on it. On the contrary, since in the days that followed a rain of advertisements appeared on various online resale sites, now listing Metroid Prime Remastered for between $80 and $100 on averagemore than double its original price.

This very widespread practice in the middle obviously aims to extort as much money as possible from fans by playing with the rarity of objects, which is not without provoking the ire of some. It is all the more frustrating that at the moment, the publisher has not yet indicated whether a new wave of actions is planned on the territory in the future or not. In other words, If you’re thinking of buying the physical version which will arrive in Europe on March 3, you better be interested.because the scalpers will probably still be there…
As a reminder, Metroid Prime Remastered is out now on the nintendo switch.
