McLaren didn’t miss the mark by making announcements coinciding with this year’s Shanghai Auto Show, as the British supercar maker has now lifted the curtain on its next supercar.

Known as the McLaren 750S, this will be the next step up from the 720S, and as the advert for the car says, it’s the “The lightest and most powerful production McLaren ever.” The car is said to weigh 30kg less than a 720S, bringing it to 1,277kg thanks to its carbon fiber racing seats and alloy wheels.

Regarding the performance of the car, we are told that under the bonnet will be a 4.0 liter V8 engine capable of producing 750PS and 800Nm of force, which in practice will allow the 750S to go from 0 to 100km/h in 2.8 seconds, and from 0 to 200 km/h in 7.2 seconds.

The car also features some design cues from the McLaren P1, such as a mid-exit exhaust and narrower air intakes, while an elongated front splitter improves aerodynamics.

There will be two iterations of the 750S, a regular version and a Spider edition for those looking for a more airy experience.
