As AP News reports, Hamill’s voice can be used on the Air Alert app, which is directly linked to the country’s air defense system that warns of missile attacks, bombings and explosive drones.
The actor gives several short and pithy warnings, such as “don’t be careless” there “your overconfidence is your weakness”, all with the aim of encouraging people to protect themselves from strikes. At the end of the alert, Hamill even signs with: “May the force be with you”.
Hamill is also part of fundraising efforts to help Ukrainian forces, which include auctioning off signed Star Wars posters, all in an effort to purchase reconnaissance drones.
