Speedrunning charity event Games Done Quick has banned Hogwarts Legacy from appearing at any of their future events.
As spotted by TheGamer(opens in a new tab), the recently released Harry Potter game has been added to Games Done Quick’s “Unauthorized Games” list, meaning it cannot be submitted for review and is not eligible for review. will not appear in future event broadcasts. . According to the Games Done Quick website (opens in a new tab), Hogwarts Legacy and all other games on the list “contain content, views, or origin that we believe are inappropriate for our broadcast.”
It’s not just Hogwarts Legacy that has been banned from the event, all other games in the Harry Potter series can now no longer be shipped; however, this is “subject to further consideration in the future”. The Warner Bros game. is just one of many games the Games Done Quick team doesn’t want to see, including games with an ESRB rating for adults only, Five Nights at Freddy’s Series, and God of War (2005).
Games Done Quick previously hosted Summer Games Done Quick 2022, which raised over $3 million for medical charity Doctors Without Borders. Previously, the event raised $2.7 million for the Prevent Cancer organization during the Awesome Games Done Quick in January 2021.
Next up for Games Done Quick is the “women’s sprint event” Frost Fatales, which will run from February 26 to March 4, 2023 and will raise funds for the Malala Fund.
