Ludwig

With a single stream, the Youtuber and streamer Ludwig managed to become one of the biggest names on Twitch. Before he started his endless stream, he was already known on both platforms, but belongs to the medium-sized creators. Now almost everyone knows him.

The idea behind his stream: Whenever his viewers pay, his stream is extended. 500 bits and a paid sub extend the stream by 10 seconds. That means he will make between $2.50 and $5 per 10 second stream. Tier 2 Subs ($9.99) and Tier 3 Subs ($24.99) even extend the runtime by 40 seconds or one minute, respectively.

257.692 Subs

In the first 10 days alone, he made over $400,000 this way. A lot has happened since then. So far it’s at around 257,000 subs. In addition, bits and donations come through other platforms. If you subtract the share from Twitch, he must have made at least $670,000 with subs and bits – in one month.

But today is the final day of the stream. It was already clear in advance that Ludwig would pull through the project for a maximum of 30 days. However, he doesn’t want to just let time run out and stop. Before the subathon comes to an end, he wants to achieve something really big with his community: They want to break the ninja record.

Nina had 269,154 active subscriptions at one point in time. These are users who pay $5 for a sub. Ludwig wants to break this number. So that not only he has something of it, he will donate all subs to a children’s hospital and double the amount.

That means he’s donating $5 per sub, even though he’s only making $2.50 from it. There could hardly be a better occasion to break the ninja record.
