The release of Like a Dragon: Ishin is just around the corner, so the first reviews have started to appear online. In general, they’re very positive, but it’s not a perfect remake.
Early reviews for Like a Dragon: Ishin, a remake of the 19th century spin-off of the Yakuza series, have surfaced online. They show that Ryu ga Gotoku Studio updated the 2014 game very effectively. Which doesn’t mean it’s perfect, since The 8 dominate among the notes.

Critics praise above all the timeless plot of Like a Dragon: Ishin It takes place in a historical setting. The side activities and detailed description of the city of Kyo (a fictionalized version of Kyoto in Japan) are also usually described with superlatives.
Mixed reviews were received for the combat system. Reviewers say that as such it’s a lot of fun, and the clashing dynamics and plenty of unlockable abilities mean it doesn’t get boring too quickly. Many, however, complain about the balance. Some weapons or abilities are considered too powerful and others are not worth using.
However, the review was mainly influenced by numerous bugs and issues. However, in this case, Ryu ga Gotoku Studio can be expected to fix the issues via an update. Some reviewers also complained about the interface, camera work, and the small variety of changes from the original.
premiere of Like a Dragon: Ishin It is scheduled for February 21, 2023. The title will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, XOne and XSX/S.
