LEGO Unit 2K was officially revealed earlier this week and it looks like new in-game transaction details have now surfaced.
While there will be an in-game currency known as “Brickbux”, which players can use to purchase optional items including new vehicles, figures and more from a store called “Unkie’s Emporium”, there will also be an option to spend “real money”. for some items.
Here’s what a 2K representative told Wccftech:
“Lego 2K Drive features an in-game store, Unkie’s Emporium, where players can purchase optional items including new vehicles, minifigures and more. There are two types of items in the store, those that can be purchased with Brickbux earned through playing, or those that can be purchased with coins earned through a real currency purchase. Safety and responsibility were a priority for us when creating Lego 2K Drive. To ensure that parents can make the right decisions for their children, in order to make purchases, a player must create a 2K account. If the player is a minor, their account must be verified by an adult, who then has the option of blocking in-game money purchases.
A press release also confirmed that LEGO 2K Drive will operate as a “live service”, including a “Drive Pass” and seasonal updates. Details of this other content have yet to be revealed.
