After weeks of rumors (years, in fact, if you count early reports), LEGO Unit 2K has been officially revealed, and it’s coming much sooner than you might think. 2K’s new brick-filled runner is coming to Xbox on May 19, 2023 And guess what, it’s an open world!
in large forza horizon 4 A LEGO DLC vibe, 2K Drive opts for an open-world design for its main mode, featuring “races, mini-games, challenges, collectibles, things to smash and familiar vehicles”.
LEGO 2K Drive is created by the team behind the company’s NBA and WWE titles, Visual Concepts, which hopes to deliver “an unforgettable experience” to Xbox gamers in May. Here are some of the main features of the game, straight from the 2K team:
- High Octane LEGO Race: careers in LEGO Unit 2K is an outlandish, fast-paced experience where players compete on a wide array of tracks while taking advantage of unique abilities that can transform a player’s position in the race at the touch of a button.
- A story in a vast open world: Players will travel through the many unique regions of the Bricklandia biome as they face off against a series of charismatic rivals in the hopes of one day winning the coveted Sky Cup trophy.
- Unique customization: LEGO 2K Drive features a diverse customization system that allows players to build their own vehicles to their liking, with over 1,000 unique LEGO pieces available during their adventure, as well as a host of color schemes, decals, styles and Moreover.
- Play alone or with others: LEGO 2K Drive offers a powerful cooperative mode and an exciting competitive multiplayer mode to be enjoyed with others. Play with family and friends via local 2-person split-screen or play online with other fearless racers of similar skill levels.
2K says this is just the start of its partnership with LEGO, with 2K Drive marking “the first release in a multi-title partnership” between the two companies. While no other games in the lineup have been officially announced here, we’re very excited to see what else the pair will bring to Xbox!
