4 dead 3 was mentioned in an apparent CS:GO Source 2 executable file leak. Several leaks of the upcoming Source 2 update for Counter-Strike GO were apparently reported in early March via an Nvidia driver update, as well Dota 2 update.
Now, normally we’d stop reporting Left 4 Dead news given that the game was an Xbox console exclusive, but we imagine any new releases in the Left 4 Dead series wouldn’t skip PS4 and PS5 just yet.
Mention of Left 4 Dead 3 could be that Valve is trolling us
Something weird just happened again, it looks like the CS:GO Source 2 executables are there, someone just sent them to me, and it’s legit. pic.twitter.com/8vTpPNygU6

The only mention of Left 4 Dead 3 in this so-called CS:GO Source 2 executable file, as revealed by a user named gabefollower a twitteris a line of code (line 67) containing “left4dead3” as a string.
Now, that could just be Valve being cheeky or maybe deliberately teasing like that to catch people leaking CS:GO content. We therefore recommend taking this L4D3 mention with a lot of salt, even if this leak is very real. At the very least, it would seem that Valve power actually count to three.
Left 4 Dead 3 rumors swirled in January 2020, and Valve quickly issued a statement saying they were “absolutely not working on anything L4D related” and hadn’t been “in years.” . Since then, Left 4 Dead has only appeared on PlayStation consoles as crossover DLC, either through Zombie Army 4 or Dying Light.
