Sony has announced a new limited-edition Lebron James PS5 Dualsense wireless controller and console skin, just days after James was named PlayStation Playmaker. These special PS5 accessories. featuring images and personal sayings that have marked James throughout his career, will be available in limited release in select countries.

Specifically, LeBron James’ PS5 Dualsense controller is based on the Midnight Black color variant. The touchscreen is adorned with the saying, “Nothing is given for free. All is won.” The right side of the controller features additional phrases: “Chosen Ones”, “Build, Enhance, Empower” and “I Promise”.
Meanwhile, the left side has graffiti-style crowns in different colors to signify Lebron’s nickname of ‘King James’. To emphasize this crossover collaboration between James and PlayStation, the back of the controller has a simple image of a yellow crown, a small “x”, and then the traditional four-button PlayStation layout written in white.
In a PlayStation blog post, Lebron hopes his designs for the console’s controller and skin will be inspiring:
It’s still crazy to think that a kid from Akron who grew up playing games could create something like this. Designing a console and controller skin with PlayStation that nods to my I Promise students and where we come from is pretty cool.
The LeBron James PS5 console controller and skin will be available later this year and will be exclusive to PlayStation Direct. Since James isn’t the only PlayStation Playmaker, future PS5 accessories featuring other celebrities’ designs may be released in the future.
