The fourth and final film in the John Wick saga opened over the weekend, shattering expectations with ticket sales far exceeding the opening of previous films. John Wick: Chapter 4″ managed to gross $73.5 million in its opening weekend, comparable to “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum,” which grossed $56.8 million during its opening weekend. Unsurprisingly, the success also sparked talk of a fifth film, in addition to the planned Ballerina spin-off starring Ana de Armas.
The boss of Lionsgate, Joe Drakecommented on the weekend’s success, describing it as “too big to pass up”, hinting at the possibility of a sequel.
“It’s more than tempting, I’m not going to give up hope that there can’t be a ‘Wick 5’.”
Of course, it all depends on whether Keanu Reeves wants to continue in the title role. Without it, it seems highly unlikely that we’ll get a fifth installment.
Are you looking forward to more John Wick movies or is four enough?
