Love is in the air for Overwatch 2 players as Blizzard Entertainment has released something called Loverwatch. Loverwatch is described as a dating sim featuring the heroes of the Overwatch series. The initial announcement and trailers for Loverwatch present the dating sim as a joke, leaving players wondering if Loverwatch is a real game or not. Loverwatch is played for laughs, but surprisingly, it’s a game you can play right now, albeit a bit tricky.

Blizzard Entertainment has shared a link where you can play Loverwatch, a text-based dating simulation game featuring Cupid Hanzo, Mercy, and Genji. Loverwatch is all dialogue with some cute designs of the main characters. You’ll have a selection of options to say, and the options you choose will decide whether you like Mercy and Genji. Once you commit to having a romance with one of the two, you must answer a series of questions about the character to make them fall in love. You will need an innate knowledge of Mercy or Genji to fall in love with them.

So yes, Loverwatch is technically a game, but it’s a minimal game. The title is a simple text-based adventure that can be run on a desktop computer and doesn’t need to be fully downloaded. The game is concise, it won’t take much for you to fall in love with both Genji and Mercy which are the only two options available in the game. Loverwatch also makes it easy to fall in love with the characters as most of the dialogue are very ironic and silly.

Loverwatch can be categorized more as a prank game than a full title. Blizzard also clarifies that Loverwatch is not series canon, which means you shouldn’t expect Mercy or Genji to talk about dating you in an upcoming patch for Overwatch 2. Loverwatch will still be playable until at the end of the month, so if you want to try the game, you’ll need to play it before the end of February.
