How to Upgrade Gear in Hogwarts Legacy
You will have the opportunity to improve your equipment when you learn how to use the enchanted profession. This is another item you can unlock in the Room of Requirement. You unlock it as you progress through the story, and during the fall semester, Deek will request your presence in the Room of Requirement. You need to complete the quest called The Elf, the Nab-Sack and the Loom. You’ll have to work your way through this quest, then at the end, Deek will show you how to craft the enchanted loom. You can place the craft anywhere in the Room of Requirement and then interact with it. You can select any item used by your character and upgrade it. Each time you want to upgrade it, it costs animal resources, which you can acquire by dealing with it in the Vivarium.

How to Unlock Gear Traits in Hogwarts Legacy
The second thing the enchanted loom can do for you is weave lines. A handful of better, higher quality items in Hogwarts Legacy will have trait slots, which are usually empty. You can find Traits while exploring Hogwarts Legacy and bring items to the Haunted Loom to provide them with valuable Traits. Each time you add a trait to an equipment slot, it costs animal resources.
