The Grandmaster Armor Blacksmith is a vendor available in The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine expansion. This blacksmith is different from others in the game because he can craft Grandmaster armor sets. These Grandmaster armor sets are simply the best you can get in the game as they are made specifically for Witchers. They offer a huge stat boost and can be tailored to a specific playstyle for Geralt. This is why it is essential to find this blacksmith. How to find and unlock the Grandmaster Armor Blacksmith in The Witcher 3
The Grandmaster Armor smith in the game is Lazare Lafargue and is located in the Hauteville region of Beauclaire. Lazare Lafargue sells common and rare gear found in other forges, but crafting Grandmaster armor sets is where he excels.
There are several ways to encounter him in the game. The first is through ‘Master, Master, Master, Master!’ secondary missions. You will receive this side quest if you find at least one Grandmaster Armor diagram in the open or via a notice board in Toussaint where the blacksmith calls for help. This side quest will require you to find the Grandmaster Armorer profession.
Another way is to simply explore and find the Grandmaster Armor Blacksmith shop. An icon representing the store is present on the map.

When you arrive there, you will find a beautifully designed multi-storey building. The Grandmaster Armor Blacksmith is located on the second floor.

After meeting the blacksmith, Geralt will ask him about the contract and ask about the five Witcher schools. He also mentions his ambition to become a Grandmaster Armorer, like his teacher.

To help Lafargue achieve his ambition, he will send you on a treasure hunt to find the armors of the five schools:
- Grandmaster’s Cat Gear
- Griffin Gran maestro gear
- Grand Master Manticore Equipment
- Grand Maestro Ursine Gear
- Grandmaster Wolf Gear
Finding all of a Witcher School’s diagrams and taking them will complete the “Master, Master, Master, Master!” secondary missions. Thanks to this, Lazare Lafargue will become a grandmaster armorer and thus unlock the crafting of grandmaster armor. After that, you can bring the remaining diagrams to him and create these sets at will.
