The Petrificus Totalus spell is extremely useful in Hogwarts Legacy. This allows you to finish off enemies before they have a chance to react, especially if they are exceptionally weak. Not every enemy can be taken out with Petrificus Totalus, and if they are an elite enemy they will most likely lose a lot of health and remain a threat. This is what you need to know about how to sneak attack enemies and use Petrificus Totalus in Hogwarts Legacy.
How sneak attacks work in Hogwarts Legacy
When you want to sneak attack an enemy, you need to make sure you are completely invisible. You can do this by using the Disillusion spell, a utility you can use on yourself to prevent others from seeing you. You’ll want to make sure to activate it whenever you sneak into a location. While under this spell, the next step is to try to sneak up behind an enemy and take them out before they even know you’re there.
When you’re behind an enemy, a button will appear above their head. You should see the spell name, Petrificus Totalus, and you can use it against them. This will instantly stun your enemy, making them extremely stiff and eliminating them before you even fight them. You should be able to use it against any enemy you sneak up on, but again, if the enemy is significantly stronger than you or an elite unit, it won’t go down immediately. They will have some health left and can warn others of your presence. You probably want to save these enemies for last.
The Petrificus Totalus spell is the one you always have on your character. You don’t need to make sure it’s on your character. However, this can only work when your character is under the Disillusionment spell.
