Genshin Impact fans are probably curious if their banner history is in an ideal state to trigger a “pity attraction” for an upcoming 5-star character. Those familiar with gacha games or who have played Genshin Impact for a long time will no doubt understand what banners are and what is at stake as to how a character is obtained. For example, a person’s chance of removing a 5-star unit from any banner is always less than 2%, unless they can trigger their mercy. This approach does not require strategic planning or complex calculations, but simply involves understanding how to count your pity.

How to Check Mercy in Genshin Impact

To view your Mercy Check banner history in Genshin Impact, you must first open the Wish screen by pressing F3 on PC or selecting the starred “Wish” icon on the Paimon pause screen. Next, interact with the “History” tab at the bottom of the screen next to “Details”. Depending on the type of wish that was open when you opened the history, the registration log will appear showing all the withdrawals you have made in the last six months. You can use the arrows at the bottom to move between pages or select the drop-down menu at the top of the window to view the banner history of other wish types in Genshin Impact.
All the information you need to check your pity can be found in your Genshin Impact banner history, including the item drawn, your name, the type of wish, and the time you received it. Genshin Impact’s limited-time banners have a Mercy of 90, which means that pulling 90 from each Character Event Wish will guarantee a 5-Star character. This pity resets every time you hit that 90 mark or get 5 stars by sheer luck.

For example, based on our banner history, we released Hu Tao on February 11, 2023 and released two wishes since then. Based on this information, we need to get another 88 wishes during Dehya Banner to receive Mercy or Luck with RNG. Similarly, you can check your pity in Genshin Impact by looking at your banner history using the method above and looking for the last 5-star unit you received. Then count the number of sweaters you have after that particular wish to figure out your current state of pity.
