In Sons of the Forest, players will need to build a base of operations if they want to survive cannibals and mutants. In this chosen location, you may have built a powerful fireplace that you no longer want. No problem, there’s a way to turn it off before it burns down whatever you’ve built on it. This solution does not require any effort on your part and everything will be done by pressing a button. Here’s how to put out fires in Sons of the Forest.

How to Destroy Fires in Sons of the Forest

Sons of the Forest campfires will go out if you wait. As long as you don’t provide more fuel for the fire (leaves, sticks, etc.), the fire will destroy itself after a while. The fastest way to put out a fire in Sons of the Forest is to fall asleep. When you wake up, the fire must be extinguished.

You can also destroy a campfire in Sons of the Forest by hitting it multiple times with a weapon. They don’t seem to have much health and you can hit them while they’re still burning. As long as you’re not walking on fire, you should be good.

Unfortunately, since campfires aren’t a “structure,” you can’t take them down, like you would a building. You can usually destroy something you’ve built by holding down the C button on your keyboard. However, this method does not seem to work on fires.

If you’re trying to save your character from burning from a fire, you can solve it by jumping into water. If there is no river or water nearby, run a little, the burning effect will fade after a while.
