Where to find Pet Kemono’s tail feathers in Wild Hearts
Pet Kemono’s Tail Feathers are a crafting material that can be obtained passively from Wild Hearts. You need a handful of items and a quick pair of hands to start earning this resource. This resource comes from a specific species of creature, the grass swallow and the swallow with lotus wings. To farm this resource, we suggest researching Grasswing Swallow, found exclusively in the first open-world environment, the path of flowers. Blossom Trail turns into Harugasumi Way starting in Chapter 4, but this creature travels this area the same way. The picture below is the little bird you need to follow.

You can find this creature in every corner of the first area. Approach one of these colorful birds and press L2 to take it as a pet. We suggest running until you have acquired three birds. Once you’ve taken a couple as a pet, it’s time to head back to Minato.
Once back at the base, you need to build the Karakuri Wildlife Cage Dragon. It costs 30 wind elements to build, so make sure you have enough capacity for two or three of these cages. After building this cage, approach it, place a Grasswing Swallow in it, and press Confirm.

Once you’ve put enough birds in these cages, all you have to do is sit back and wait. Every few minutes this cage will ask you to collect. When you collect from these cages, you’ll have a Pet Kemono Tail Feather in your inventory. If you need this resource in abundance, you can place as many cages as you have birds and let everyone passively earn this rare item for you.
If you don’t feel like waiting, we suggest you go hunting. If you chase after and then return to Minato, these cages will contain a new set of Pet Kemono Tail Feathers that you can add to your collection.
