Your Hogwarts Legacy character will have a limited number of equipment slots when playing. You’ll scavenge gear quite often, meaning you’ll trade in your old gear and resell it to vendors. There is a way to place more equipment slots and make it easier to carry more items. Here’s what you need to know to get more gear slots in Hogwarts Legacy.

How to Unlock Additional Equipment Slots in Hogwarts Legacy

The only way for characters to unlock more gear slots in Hogwarts Legacy is to research the various Trials of Merlin and complete them. These Trials of Merlin are hidden throughout the game, which can make them easier to find, as uncovering their secrets can be a bit trickier. Each trial presents a unique puzzle to solve. You will need to use a variety of spells to progress through them.

Once you complete enough Trials of Merlin, more slots will become available. Equipment slotting can occur multiple times, so the more evidence you find while playing Hogwarts Legacy, the more likely you are to facilitate storing more equipment. Also, it can prevent you from seeing the annoying notification that you don’t have enough gear slots to store a new piece of gear you found in a troublesome chest.

You can view your progress on the Collections page while playing Hogwarts Legacy. This will indicate how many more Trials of Merlin you need to complete before your next gear slot upgrade. If you lose track of a Trial of Merlin, open your world map and you can narrow down its exact location and find your way back to the puzzle. Unfortunately, the map does not contain the answer to the riddle.
