One of the vehicles in ARK: Survival Evolved’s Extinction DLC is the Mek. Meks are deployable Tek robots that Survivors can control, just like their own characters. It’s a mobile unit that offers limited protection and a great method of fighting the Titan King, as well as clearing massive amounts of spam outside of an enemy base if you attack. The Mek is not a very tough vehicle and due to its large size it is easy to dismantle, but it is very useful for tribes in PvE and PvP. In this guide we will see how to get a Mek in Ark: Survival Evolved.

What can the Mek do in Ark: Survival Evolved?

The Mek has a variety of offensive abilities, as well as some defensive ones. He can serve as a ranged or melee fighter and players can use the following abilities:

  • To better match the abilities of our top pilot candidates, the TEK Saber was created as the primary weapon more suited to hitting than stabbing.
  • Plasma Pistol is a support weapon that requires Element. Fire three shots in a row.
  • Under the feet of the unit, reinforcements are installed. They allowed the Mek to hover in the air and move quickly over short distances after activation. Best used in conjunction with ranged attacks for maximum impact.
  • When using the Mek, you need to constantly check the heat level. The Mek will become slow, vulnerable, and susceptible to damage if it overheats.

All Meks have a customizable mod slot for a specially designed weapon or tool that can be easily replaced. The type installed depends on what you plan to use your Mek for. There are three different types of mods you can install on your Mek:

  • A high output artillery gun mounted on the rear of the unit is known as the Mek Siege Gun Mod. The Mek must temporarily anchor to the ground to handle the recoil, immobilizing it while firing.
  • A large missile battery that fires sixteen rounds before returning to the unit’s target is known as the Mek Rocket Pod. Particularly effective against large and distant targets.
  • • Mek Deployable Shield Mod – Increases unit speed while deploying a domed energy shield to protect against incoming ranged attacks. Good for pilots who are team or scrum oriented.

The Mega Mek is a variant of the Mek. The Mega Mek is assembled using a MOMI to combine four Mek. If there are more than three additional mechanics in the area, the three closest are used. The Mega Mek can only be used properly during the Alpha King Titan boss fight

You can only get a Mek by completing the OSD on the Extinction map. Unassembled Mek requires building a Tek Replicator from the blueprints you will get by completing the OSDs. Consuming the unassembled Mek in your inventory will cause the Mek to spawn at your location, so best not to summon it inside in case you can’t get it out of the building.

To craft a basic unassembled Mek, you will need to place the necessary materials on the Tek Replicator and press craft on the blueprint in the replicator’s inventory. You will need the following items to create a single basic unassembled Mek:

  • 25 × black pearl
  • 225 × Crystal or Primal Crystal
  • 40 × element
  • 1000 × Metal Ingot or Scrap Ingot
  • 550 × Corrupted Polymer, Organic Polymer, or Nodule

Additional updates will also be created in Tek Replicator. You will need to install them in the mechanic’s inventory to equip them.
