One of the most popular elements of the Harry Potter The series showed how characters can easily ride broomsticks and fly counters. Fortunately, the feature has also made its way to Hogwarts Legacy, giving witches and wizards a convenient way to roam the map and see enchanting sights. As useful as it is, players should plan to do a few activities before owning a broom. This is where you can get a broom and how to use it in Hogwarts Legacy.
When do you get a broom in Hogwarts Legacy?
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to ride a broomstick at the start of the game, as you’ll need to progress through the main story missions first until you’ve completed your first flight class. Luckily the class is quite short and works more like a tutorial on how to set it up. Once done, you can go to the Spintwitches Sporting Needs store in the town of Hogsmeade to purchase a broom.

Spintwitches will offer five different broomsticks when you first enter, each costing 600 Galleons. So if you’re gold-bound, it might be best to search for nearby chests in the area or sell gear at one of the stores. Also, the only difference between the brooms is their appearance, so expect each to perform just as well as the others. However, shop owner Albie Weekes will give you the Test of Flight side quest after purchasing a broom and completing this task will make broom upgrades available for purchase in the shop.

After bringing a broom, you can taste flight by exiting Hogsmeade and opening the tool wheel to select the broom. As some may want to fly on a sunny day in the Wizarding World, it is possible to change the time of day through the menus. However, those wanting immediate access to more quests may prefer to fast travel with Floo Flames.
