The Rebreather is an essential item you need to find to help you breathe underwater in Sons of the Forest. If you don’t have it, swimming in the ocean or in caves will be difficult and impossible to survive. You will need this item to find various tools in Sons of the Forest. This is what you need to know to find the recycler in Sons of the Forest.
Where to find the recycler in Sons of the Forest
You can find the Rebreather relatively early during your Sons of the Forest playthrough. You can find it inside the cave where you crashed. Although you can find it early, we recommend entering this cave after you have some gear and spent enough time exploring the game.

When you enter the cave, move forward and keep going until you find the mutants in the dimly lit area. Send them and you can freely explore the cave. Instead of moving forward, head left when you can. You’ll know you’re on the right track if you find floating life jackets and a small inflatable ring.

Keep following this path and you will discover a small pool in the cave. On the other side, you will see a dimly lit area. However, jumping into water is not the best route for you. Go right instead. If you go into the water, there will be a shark in the water, which can attack you if you swim.

When you get to the other side, the rebreather will be next to the floor light. You will automatically equip it and the rebreather will activate on your character each time you dive into the water. You can refuel it with air canisters.
