Part of the fun in Hogwarts Legacy is customizing your character’s gear and Room of Requirement, but early in the game you don’t have as many customization options to choose from. One of the main ways to get a lot more cosmetic items for your collection is to find Collector Chests, all of which contain something you can use to spruce up your outfit or necessities piece. Collector Chests appear on your map once you’re in range of them, making some very easy to find, but many Collector Chests are well hidden. They may be behind doors that can only be unlocked with Alohomora, or you may need to use your spellcasting abilities to solve certain puzzles to reach them. And some collectible chests can only be accessed during or after certain missions. There are collectible chests all over Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and five of the hardest to reach are in the south wing.

How to Get All Five Collector Chests in the South Wing

There’s a Collector’s Chest in the small room beyond the unicorn door on the east side of the clock tower, across from the courtyard of the clock tower’s floo flames. For the unicorn door to open, the pendulum must be in the unicorn position on the large bar which it swings back and forth (looking up). Unfortunately, the pendulum doesn’t stay in position long enough, so you have to cast Glacius or Arresto Momentum just as it swings across the chamber where the unicorn symbol is.

Use Alohomora to open the door on the east side of the Clock Tower entrance (the one in the Clock Tower courtyard), then head up the stairs. At the top, turn left, cross the landing and go up the other flight of stairs. At the top, go to the east side and find the dragon marked by two dragons. To open this one, freeze the pendulum when it’s on the same “double dragon” symbol that’s on the door. There are two collection chests in the room beyond.

There is a collection chest in the faculty tower behind a locked level III door. From the Floo Flame faculty tower, head south, then go through the door where Mr. Moon is. Go up two floors, then open the Level III door with Alohomora. Throw Glacius down the fireplace, then crawl over to it and up the stairs to find a room with a Collectible Chest.

From Mr. Moon, head south, then down the spiral staircase. Enter the frog statue downstairs (the bottom of the stairs, not the bottom of the frog) and you’ll be teleported to the final collection chest.
