Cobblemon adds a variety of Pokemon-inspired features to the game, including catching and battling wild Pokemon. Before starting your own Cobblemon adventure, you’ll need to make sure you have the necessary mod files and loader installed. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the mod installation process step by step, so you can start catching and battling your very own Cobblemon in no time.
How to Download and Install Cobblemon Mod for Minecraft
To install the Cobblemon mod, you will need to use a mod loader for the Java version of Minecraft. 1.19.2. The Cobblemon mod is available for Fabric and Forge, so be sure to download the version compatible with the mod loader you plan to use. The developers at Cobblemon recommend playing their mod using Fabric for the best experience. There is also an official version of the modpack available for Technic users.
You will need to download and install the mod loader (Screen or Forge) and mod versions that match the same version of Minecraft as the current version of the Cobblemon mod to be able to play. If you don’t make sure they are all the same correct version of Minecraft, as required by the latest version of the Cobblemon mod, currently Minecraft version 1.19.2, you will encounter an error. How to Download and Install the Cobblemon Mod for Fabric

Once you’ve downloaded the necessary mods, install Fabric Loader with Minecraft version 1.19.2 selected from the drop-down menu, then unzip the other files to your Minecraft mods folder. In the Windowsthe default mods folder is located in {drive}Users{username}Appdata/Roaming.minecraft and in Mac Mods can be added to the mods folder located at ~/Library/App Support/minecraft. If you don’t have a mods folder yet, just create a new folder in the respective directory.
How to download and install the Cobblemon mod for Forge

Simply download and install Forge, then download the other three files and place them in your minecraft mods folder. As mentioned above, on Windows this folder should be created in {drive}Users{username}Appdata/Roaming.minecraft and in Mac you will find it in ~/Library/App Support/minecraft.
How to Download and Install Cobblemon with CurseForge
If you are using the CurseForge app, download the above files for the launcher version you plan to use. Once you’ve done that, go to “My Modpacks” and create a new profile for the Cobblemon mod. Be sure to change the minecraft version to match the current mod version. Once you’ve created the modpack, simply right-click on the profile and select “Open Folder” and you’ll be taken to the Curseforge mods folder. Move the three mods you previously downloaded into this folder and you’re done.
How to play Cobblemon mod in Minecraft
Once you have unpacked the necessary mods into the minecraft mods folder, open the minecraft launcher and select the correct version of your selected launcher from the launcher drop-down list to the left of the “Play” button, then press this button to start the game. You can rename and change the icon of this installation in the “Installation” tab, if you wish. As expected, you will need to create a new world to play Cobblemon. Once you’ve entered your new world, it’s time for your Cobblemon adventure to begin!
Getting started with the Cobblemon mod in Minecraft

When you enter your new world, you will see a prompt to press METRO to select a starter Pokémon from your favorite Pokémon region. Once you have made your selection, the Pokemon will be added to your party.

by pressing the METRO The key opens a panel with information about your Pokémon, including its basic information, stats, learned moves, and order in your party. You can interact with this panel the same way you would in any Pokemon game, and you can find an evolve icon, if any, below your Pokemon’s portrait. Right now, Pokemon in the Cobblemon mod evolve through leveling up or using items.
Fight wild Pokémon in Cobblemon

Press R with a wild Pokemon as the target to start a Pokemon battle. you can press R again to exit the battle. Pokemon battles work exactly as expected, though it’s worth noting that Pokemon abilities still don’t have animations. You can try to catch the wild Pokémon by selecting the corresponding option during the battle.
Create Pokéballs to catch wild Pokémon in Cobblemon

To catch Pokemon beyond your initial, you will need to create Pokéballs. There are currently 32 different types of Pokéballs that you can craft and use. Crafting Pokeballs requires special reagents called Apricorns as well as common Minecraft items, including ingots. Apricots can be harvested from naturally reproducing trees in your world, and you can replant these trees using seeds like any other tree.
Catch wild Pokémon in Cobblemon
To try to catch a wild Pokémon in the Overworld, right click on the Pokémon with the selected Pokéball type in hand to try to catch it. If successful, the Pokémon will be added to your party if there is room, or sent to the PC if your party is full. If you fail, the used Pokéball will be destroyed and you will have to try again.
Manage Pokémon in your party and PC storage
You can change the Pokemon in your party by creating a CP and moving a Pokemon to an empty space in the party or swapping it with a Pokemon that is currently in your party. Once you’ve created and placed a PC, all you need to do is right mouse button on it like you would any other usable structure in Minecraft. Pokemon in your party will gain experience through battling and evolve by leveling up or with specific items and can be healed through the use of a crafted healing machine.
