Strand is an element of darkness you unlock in Destiny 2’s Lightfall. It gives you access to a range of unique abilities and you can tap into the shackles of the universe, unraveling enemies as you fight them. Entanglement is a notable ability that you’ll get to use often. You’ll learn to master this as you progress through Lightfall’s story, and you’ll be able to use it when you gain access to this item. This is what you need to know about how to defeat enemies using entanglement with Strand in Destiny 2.
How to Entangle Enemies in Destiny 2
You become entangled by defeating an enemy you hit using your other Strand abilities, such as Slash, Unravel, or Suspect. A hanging enemy is one you’ve lifted off the ground using Strand, holding them by those creepy green straps. An untangled enemy will come out of the attack and hit others with the untangled effect. Finally, Sever is a damage debuff for a target, and they start doing less damage against you. You can trigger these status effects while using the Strand or while using a Strand-based weapon.

You will see a green orb on the ground, and it will be the entanglement. You can grab it like the other Power Orbs you have to submerge while playing Destiny 2. Instead of submerging it, throw it at an enemy, and it will melt and disappear. While not all targets will collapse when you hit them with a Tangle Orb created by your Strand powers, it’s a good way to take a lot of damage from tougher enemies.

You won’t always create an entanglement orb when using your Strand abilities, but if you coordinate your Strand grab with a well-timed melee attack, an orb will usually appear after defeating enemies.
