Food is an important resource in Zero Sievert. With the game focusing on post-apocalyptic survival, food is just as important as weapons as you fight to survive each skirmish, as it restores hunger, thirst, or both, increasing your weight capacity. Certain foods will even reduce radiation and fatigue. Players can craft, loot, or buy food from vendors. Of the three, crafting is the cheapest, as long as you scavenge and/or loot regularly. This is how you can craft food in Zero Sievert.

Crafting can only be done in your bunker, which means you have no way to craft extra supplies when you’re away from your base. Choose your craft and use your resources wisely. To craft an item, interact with the workbench on the left side of the bunker. Next, you will need to select the category of the item you wish to create. By clicking on the item, the list of ingredients will be displayed and you can craft it if you have all the necessary resources. Please note that some items will require specific skills or mods to be installed to craft them, but don’t worry, the game will warn you if you are missing any of those skills or mods when attempting to craft the item in question. Some foods, like Cooked Meat, Meatballs, and Beef and Bean Stew, will require you to have a kitchen to make them. Dumplings even require you to have Chef unlocked.
There are currently two highly recommended foods in Zero Sievert, depending on what you’re trying to restore. To quench your hunger, the MRE is the item you will want to craft as it gives you +40 Hunger and +20 Thirst. All Purpose, Milk is the item you’ll want to stockpile, as it gives you +10 Fatigue and -0.30 Radiation, plus just +8 Hunger and +18 Thirst, making it ideal for when venturing outside of your basis.
