After Fortnite players were tasked with opening chests in Chapter 4 Season 1, they now have to crack codes for Battle Royale Cipher Missions. Instead of lending objectives, each questline challenge simply presents a set of numbers, and you need to solve them to know where to go. For one, the first of his missions only shows “1.17.23.9.14. 19.19.24.1.21.6.” Here’s how to solve this cryptic message and complete the Cipher quest in Fortnite.
How to do the first cipher quest in Fortnite
Once you decode the encrypted cipher, you will find the file “1.17.23.9.14.19.19.24.1.21.6.” The mission takes place in Anvil Square. a building on the east side of the location. As shown below, you can start by heading to the building closest to the Anvil Square bridge and looking for a locker on the first floor. The locker is located on the right side of the piece near a rack of tires.

Once the locker is found, you must use your pickaxe on it until a staircase leading to the basement is revealed. The challenge can then be completed by walking to the back of the room and interacting with its light table. Doing so will grant you an additional 10,000 XP and the next step in the Encrypted Cipher questline.

Keep in mind that all Crypto Cipher missions will only be available until March 10, which means you have a small amount of time to unlock your exclusive Circuitry weapon skin. In the meantime, those who want to earn some extra XP can also partake in part 4 of the Oathbound questline. Its challenges reward players with 20,000 XP each, including the task of having to decipher the coordinates of the Rift Gate.
