Horrorboros is a creepy-looking King Salmonid who first appeared in March Salmon Run when the Salmonids took over Inkblot Art Academy. If your team increases its counter enough, you will have a chance to engage it. Although this formidable opponent has a scream that intimidates anyone who dares to challenge it, this boss is not as scary as it seems at first glance. Sure, Horrorboros is a step up from Cohozuna, but with one piece of information, you and your team can easily beat Horrorboros in Splatoon 3.

Unlike Cohozuna, Horrorboros is an aerial enemy, so you’ll need to aim your shots more carefully if you want to deal damage. The key to defeating this dragon-like opponent is to attack the bomb he begins to create in his mouth. Hit the bomb with the Golden Eggs you collect from Boss Salmonids. If you do, you will see that it will slowly become covered in ink. Once completely covered in ink, it will explode in Horrorboros’ mouth, dealing a ton of damage. If you don’t, he’ll drop the bomb which will cover the area in green slime.

Of course, you can attack its body with golden eggs or with your regular attacks if you don’t have any eggs with you, but these forms of attacks won’t do as much damage. We also suggest that you keep them as a last resort. An example of when to do this is when you are down to a speck of health and only have a few seconds left in the turn. Since the bomb takes a while to detonate, you probably won’t be able to take it out with just 10 seconds or less on the clock. Therefore, it is better to spend your time attacking Horrorboros directly.
