World of Warcraft gives players plenty to do outside of the traditional MMO elements. One such activity is Pet Battles, which features a collection of pseudo-Pokémon creatures and an in-game battle system with challenges spread across different areas of Azeroth. Haniko is a female Vulpera who trains the Dragonkins you will encounter for a specific world quest or to complete feats. This is the easiest way to claim victory against Haniko in a pet battle in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight.

Haniko Pet Battle Strategy in WoW
There are two main strategies to make it easier to defeat Haniko. Which one to choose depends on your collection of animals and the animals available to counter Haniko. This trainer uses three Draconian pets of increasing quality, Bloodbiter, Faceripper, and Tina.
- Bloodbiter has the following attacks:
- Bite: Beast’s basic attack.
- Fade – Makes Bloodbiter invulnerable for one turn and swaps it out upon completion.
- Proto-Strike – Two-round attack that deals massive damage and makes Bloodbiter invulnerable between rounds.
- Faceripper has the following attacks:
- Bite: Beast’s basic attack.
- Feign Death: Makes Faceripper invulnerable for one turn, eventually turning him into Haniko’s highest health pet.
- Proto-Strike – Two-round attack that deals massive damage and makes Facebiter invulnerable between rounds.
- Tina has the following attacks:
- Emerald Bite: basic magic attack.
- Death Grip – Inflicts damage and then drops you to your lowest pet.
- Starfall – AoE attack that also heals allies and causes the Moonlight weather effect for nine turns, increasing all healing by 25% and magic damage by 10%.
The first method works with nearly every Pet Battle NPC in the game. It involves manipulating the scaling system used for pet battles in the environment. Non-wild NPC opponents in the game will level up to your highest pet level used in battle.
- You can use three level one pets in this fight and that makes it extremely easy.
- Haniko uses pets in the Dragonkin Pet School, which means they are weak against humanoid attacks.
- Using three level one humanoid pets with no cooldowns makes this fight nearly impossible to lose. Haniko’s Dragonkins can only use Bite or Emerald Bite at level one, meaning they cannot set their unique strengths.
The second method includes the advice from the previous method, but is a legit strategy using level 25 battle pets.
- It is recommended to use three pets from the humanoid family that have access to humanoid abilities.
- Kun-Lai Runt, Father Winter’s Help, and Winter’s Little Helper are three good options.
- Bloodbiter is only a rare quality, so it should go away with a few regular humanoid attacks.
- Faceripper is a rare quality, so be sure to hit it hard with a good rare humanoid pet. The combination of Blizzard and Ice Lance from Father Winter’s Helper works well here.
- Tina is the main challenge. Replaces its Moonlight weather effect after using Starfall to reduce its damage. Again, Blizzard will work here. Then make sure to stun Tina with Ice Tomb before spamming Ice Lance afterwards.

That’s all you need to know to defeat Haniko in a pet battle. Fighting her while The Terrible Three quest is active can provide decent rewards for Pet Battles to help in future Pet Battles.
