There are four seasons in Sons of the Forest just like in real life: spring, summer, autumn and of course winter. The season only lasts a few days; however, you should keep in mind that summer and winter are the longest. The world around you in the game will start to change with each season, with winter bringing sub-zero temperatures and snowfall, while autumn will let you see all the leaves change color. It’s also important to remember that summer will have more daylight than winter, giving you more time to work without worrying about things lurking in the dark. All the basics of the real world apply to the game when it comes to seasons, they go by so much faster.

One of the biggest changes with the different seasons is the foods you’ll have to survive on. As expected, summer and winter will be different from each other, which means you’ll have to change your collection methods. For example, it will be impossible to get salmon, because bodies of water freeze, and enemies will also be more desperate for food. You will need to take extra precautions in the winter to ensure you have enough food to stay warm on those chilly nights.
