A few days before the launch of Horizon: Forbidden West on PS5 and PS4, Sony Interactive Entertainment announces that Horizon: Zero Dawn has reached a significant milestone in its sales.

PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst said on social media that Horizon : Zero Dawn has officially exceeded 20 million copies sold worldwide and one billion hours played (figures stopped in November 2021) thanks to sales of the PS4 and PC versions. Offered in its “Complete Edition” version via the Play at Home initiative, free downloads to get the game from Guerrilla Games are obviously not compatible.

Horizon: Zero Dawn therefore does as well as God of War (Santa Monica Studio), available since last month on PC after having been exclusively on PS4 for four years, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (Naughty Dog), The Last of Us (Naughty Dog), Spider-Man (Insomniac Games) and probably Astro’s Playroom (Team Asobi). An impressive success for a new license that could motivate Sony Interactive Entertainment to prepare a television series or film with PlayStation Productions within the next few years.
