Some players are reporting frequent crashes with Hogwarts Legacy on PS5, preventing them from continuing the game or corrupting their saves due to an unforeseen issue. That’s a bit to be expected considering the game is barely out of Early Access. Hopefully these critical performance issues will be fixed before the day one patch which is expected to be released today.

Hogwarts Legacy Day One patch should fix crashing issues

Several users on Reddit and Twitter are experiencing various technical issues with instances of Hogwarts Legacy freezing, stuttering, and crashing on PS5. Thankfully, overall these issues don’t seem to be a widespread problem, especially when compared to some of the issues in PC gaming as noted in various reviews.

Having said that, a Twitter user reported “major crashing issues” even after deleting cache and reinstalling, and another stating that the game will crash on its own after two minutes of play. this player reports the same and requested a Day One patch as soon as possible. A Hogwarts Legacy Reddit user corroborates this constant crashing issue, claiming that the person’s save file was deleted due to corruption.

Currently, the best solution to these crashing issues is to open a saved file, either locally or in the cloud, before the crash occurs.

Avalanche Software has confirmed that the Hogwarts Legacy Day One patch will improve performance and add ray tracing, along with the usual list of bug fixes.
