How to solve the clock tower pendulum puzzle
Before you start solving this puzzle, you must first unlock the spells required for this challenge which you can unlock after completing “The Guardian’s Lunar Lament (main story quest) there”Mrs. Kogawa’s Mission” (Parallel History Search).
Once you’ve unlocked the required spells, head to the Clock Tower in the south wing of the castle to the Floo Llama Clock Tower Courtyard.
Here you will find four metal doors with four different symbols. If you interact with them, their metal bars will start to open before closing.
Opening the metal doors in the clock tower requires you to use the giant pendulum to solve a Hogwarts secret.
Go to the room just above the dueling club. You must have come to this club at the start of the game. To attempt this puzzle, you must have the allohomomorous spell ranked up to second level. The spell helps you unlock doors so complete of the moon lord mission before attempting this puzzle at Hogwarts Legacy.
You must unlock four doors to solve this puzzle. The four doors are located around the tower and are closed by bars. You will notice a small logo on each door making it easy to recognize.
All logos on the doors are the same as those behind the large swinging pendulum. The solution is simple; simply freeze the pendulum in front of the integrated logos. Use the Hechizo Ice or Arrest Momentum to freeze it.
Once you have stopped the pendulum in all four places, all four pieces unlock. You must visit each room to complete the puzzle. The rooms are easy to find because they are scattered in a very small beach, but you just have to move to different floors. However, to make it easier for you, we’ve marked the location of each room below, so take this opportunity to easily solve another Hogwarts secret.
pendulum position | Porteta |
---|---|
more to the left | Right next to the Dueling Club, where Flo Flame is. Look right next to the corner where there are trophies, as the room is on the right side. |
LEFT | On the first floor towards the left corner near the wall. |
GOOD | On the right side of the pendulum on the second floor. |
Further to the right | At the top of the tower and just in front of the stairs. |
You will find an eye chest and another chest in two of the four rooms. These chests will give you different rewards, so make the most of them.
How to solve the admission key puzzle
After completing the main mission “The Trial of Niamh Fitzgerald”, you will gain access to the Headmaster’s Office. If you head to the second level of the manager’s office, which is right above the trophy room, you can find the admission key on a table.
Near the desk with a telescope, there is a chest containing the handle of the wand. You might want to pick it up before you go to solve the puzzle.
This is another Hogwarts secret, but as explained before, the game will never tell you. So, you might be wondering where to use admission key in Hogwarts Legacy.
Finding the admission key requires a bit of work. You can’t just break into the principal’s office. You need to sneak into the office and then unlock the door to your left using your Alohomora spell.
You will see stairs going up the tower. Follow them and you will be confronted with another locked door, but this one has a level 3 lock. If your lock picking skills are maxed with a level 3 Alohomora spell, open the door and enter to get the key entrance next to the silver cup holders on the table.
The entry key is used to open a secret room. Go back down and exit the principal’s office. Go down the spiral staircase and follow the hallway to the end, where you’ll find a strange black metal door with five locks.
You cannot open this door using Alohomora. If you have the admission key, interact with the door to enter a hidden room. This will complete another Hogwarts secret in the game.
Find and loot the chests inside for random rewards, such as fashion dresses.
How to solve the viaduct bridge puzzle
There are a few chests in a hidden area under the overpass bridge that connects the Library Annex to the Great Hall. The only way to discover this Hogwarts secret is to solve the Overpass Bridge puzzle.
Head to the bridge to find four braziers, two on each side. You must light these braziers using your Fire or Freezer spells in a specific order to reveal the hidden area below.
Note that each brazier has a large engraving as well as a Roman numeral. The main clue to the solution of this puzzle is found on the bridge itself. Head to the library annex to find a large circular metal plaque on the floor with the same four engravings along with four Roman numerals.
All you have to do is light each brazier, then interact with them to match their engravings to the correct Roman numerals as shown on the ground before. However, if you want to skip all that, the correct Viaduct Bridge puzzle solution is shown below.
Brazier | Solution |
---|---|
closest to the left | VI (4) |
closest to the right | II (2) |
more to the left | you (1) |
Further to the right | II (3) |
Once all four braziers are lit in the correct order, the metal plate from the previous one will open to reveal a ladder leading down. Congratulations! You have just solved a Hogwarts secret in the game.
Climb the ladder to the secret area to find a small and a large chest at opposite ends. Both chests will give you random rewards including fraction per measure.
