Hogwarts Legacy: a patch that we detail for you!

One of the main complaints against Hogwarts Legacy it’s its lack of performance, as well as the small bugs that players may have encountered. Some even had crashes or even lost FPS. This update, which arrived on Valentine’s Day, it’s supposed to get better “general stability and gaming performance” said the developers of Avalanche. With these bug fixes, players should now have the best gaming experience while discovering Hogwarts and its surroundings.

Here is the list of all the fixes brought by this patch!

how to play :

  • owl mail : Fixed an issue with the mail not triggering the sequence mission correctly.
  • world events : Fixed a rare bug in some places where world events occur in the game.
  • NPC : Fixed a rare trap when respawning NPCs in the world + Fixed a crash with certain NPC times.
  • Characters : Fixed flickering issues occurring with a transparent head while the hair was still present.

user interface :

  • Updated localization text for additional content items.
  • Added “Build” version to the first EULA.
  • Fixed a rare case where mission descriptions were not displaying correctly.

scenes :

  • Fixed outfit transformation VFX presentation.
  • Fixed a stability issue when skipping scenes.
  • Fixed a crash when playing cutscenes and cinematics.

Back :

  • Fixed the latest autosave location rewrite bug.
  • Fixed an issue when restarting from the last game save due to being unable to talk to a vendor after the initial conversation. Game performance and stability. :

  • Improved performance in “Loyalty” mode.
  • Fixed a rare crash when hovering over the map.
  • Fixed an issue with wind causing world resources to warp and stretch.
  • Fixed a rare occurrence with gear sharing.
  • Fixed a rare crash with map asset status.
  • Fixed a rare crash that occurred with in-game world events.
  • Fixed a memory leak with the HL-313 Global Illumination System.

XSX :

  • Performance and stability : Improved crash data collection to help find rare crashes.

Steam for PC and Epic Games :

  • scenes : Fixed audio missing or not playing properly.
  • Controls : Updated support for Switch Pro HL-346 controller.
  • Upscalers : enable rendering when DLSS is disabled + Antialiasing and screen resolution settings will be disabled when using DLSS and not super resolution.
  • laser trace : Fixed an issue where RTAO looked worse than SSAO + Default settings set to medium quality.
  • Performance and stability : Updates to shader building performance and feature enhancements + Fixed a crash affecting Text2Speech usage + Fixed issues with world resources suddenly expanding, addressing the following reported issues: HL -305, HL -265.
    Fixed lower frame rate issue for Nvidia GPUs compared to AMD GPUs
  • DirectX version 12: version 12 is required to run Hogwarts Legacy on PC
