Game news Hitman 3: PC gamers will be able to import Hitman levels 1 and 2 if they own the games

IO Interactive is changing its minds regarding access to the levels of the last two Hitmans in Hitman 3 on PC. The studio guarantees that “gamers will not need to buy back the games”.

If you already own Hitman or Hitman 2 on PC, you will finally be able to enjoy the levels of these games in improved version (rendering, animation, AI …) in Hitman 3 (as an exclusive reminder to the Epic Games Store for one year) without having to pay anything. Sure Twitter, IO Interactive indique:

We continue to work on a solution with our partners to allow PC gamers who own Hitman 1 or Hitman 2 to import locations from those games into Hitman 3 at no additional cost. We can guarantee that players will NOT need to redeem the games.

However, this import feature will not be available when Hitman 3 launches on January 20, but “in the coming weeks”.

In the meantime, IO Interactive reminds that Hitman 1 Access Pass – Game of the Year Edition will be free for all PC players who purchased Hitman 3 by January 30. For those who do not have Hitman 2, an Access Pass will be sold (with an 80% discount for the first 14 days) to access its levels.

Last point: the transfer of progress between Hitman 2 and Hitman 3 (existing player profile, XP, localization mastery progress …) will be possible as soon as the game is released. You will need to use an IO Interactive account and do the manipulation on a dedicated website, which will open before the release. The studio has released a pre-launch guide to detail all of this.
