Nintendogs-esque Little Friends has a sequel on the way that features more adorable puppies than we’ve come to expect from the pet simulator.
As spotted by Nintendo Everything (Opens in a new tab), we’re getting a follow-up to 2019’s Switch hit Little Friends: Dogs & Cats. Seemingly focusing on just one of these creatures this time around, Little Friends: Puppy Island will see players taking their four-legged friends on vacation to meet new puppies, unearth treasures and take relaxing walks in paradise.
Developer Big Blue Bubble released a trailer to accompany this announcement, and in it we can see even more of the adorable adventures our little friends had in the latest game in the series, as well as many of the features that will bring you back. in 2005. Not only can you play, walk and bathe your dog, but you can also dress him up in over 350 colorful outfits and accessories. What more could you want from a pet game?
We don’t have a firm release date for Little Friends: Puppy Island yet, but we do know there will be a digital and physical release in “Summer 2023”. It’s not the only Nintendogs replacement you can get for your Nintendo Switch. As a resident fan of pet simulation games on GR+, I also pointed out another similar game called Puppies & Kittens, which was released for the Nintendo console in 2021.
If you’re still waiting for some sort of Nintendogs-related announcement some day soon, well, we have a very small ray of hope. Earlier this year, a Nintendo patent was found that looks a lot like Nintendogs mobile and sees players interacting with a pup via augmented reality on their smartphone, much like Pokemon Go’s AR mode.
