Headcannon, a developer who helped Sega with the original sound origins, sonic mania and other entries, confirmed that he was working on Sonic Origins Plus. The company took to Twitter to discuss some of the stuff it contributed to the updated build. Specifically, he found himself behind two of the new playable characters. He cited his role in helping Amy Rose and Knuckles to be part of some titles in Sonic Origins Plus.
As part of sound originsAmy Rose becomes playable in sonic the hedgehog, sonic the hedgehog 2, sonic 3 and knucklesthere sonic cd. Knuckles is new to sonic cd. The ad quoted the artist and programmer behind Amy. He also mentioned Knuckles’ new work and other unspecified additions.
We were thrilled to hear that SEGA wanted Amy to be playable and couldn’t resist the opportunity to help her get noticed! New playable characters need new sprites and ours. @AStartShow was certainly up to the design task while @DashPadSPD performed data management.
