The Mech franchise got a big on-screen return with the anime Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch of Mercurywho has already become a beloved part of his followers, since Mercury Suletta takes the Gundam series to new heights and explores territory that previous incarnations of the Mech series have not explored.
Unfortunately, a few weeks ago, the animated series had to fire one of its greatest voice actresses due to her physical condition. However, the anime franchise just announced that Yume Miyamoto will return to the series for the second half of The Witch From Mercury episodes.
Yume Miyamoto had played the role of Nika Nanauraa minor Suletta character, who was replaced by Hakura Shiraishidue to a medical condition. Prior to Mobile Suit Gundam, Miyamoto starred in roles such as Bocchi’s The Rock!, Star Wars: Visions, Wonder Egg Priority, and The Misfit of Demon King Academy, to name a few.
Miyamoto’s character, Nika Nanaura, is a second-year mechanical engineering student, which is handy since her school often settles disputes using giant mechanical suits. As Suletta’s story continues in the upcoming Witch From Mercury return, Nika will surely continue to play an important role in the current iteration of the robot franchise.
The official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Twitter account shared the great news that Miyamoto will be returning to the series when new episodes of the latest mech story arrive later this year:
Translation: “Announcement of the return of the cast in charge of the role of Nika Nanaura. Yume Miyamoto, who was temporarily on rest due to poor physical condition, will resume the role of Nika Nanaura while his physical condition recovers.”
