GTA Online players have been around for quite a while to face a very slow loading time. The modder t0st had taken on the problem and provided a solution. This was also noticed by Rockstar, who now promise a general fix for the next update and will reward the finder with a big cash bonus.

GTA Online loading times are getting shorter

Patch confirmed: Rockstar reported to Globe Live Media about the problem about two weeks after the problem became known. The developers explain that t0st did in fact uncover a piece of code from GTA Online that can be improved. At the same time they promise a patch for one of the upcoming updates. However, there is no date yet.

“After an intensive investigation, we can confirm that t0st has indeed discovered an aspect of the game directly related to the loading times of the PC version of GTA Online that can be improved. As a result of this investigation we have made some changes that are in the upcoming title update will be applied.”

However, Rockstar does not reveal any specific details. It is therefore unknown how many of the modders’ improvements are actually carried over into the game and in what form.

It is also unclear how big the performance gain of the upcoming title update will be and whether it, like the fan solution, will also be 70 percent shorter loading times will lead.

Modders are rewarded royally

The company has also contacted t0st. Apparently not for further help in solving the problem, but to reward him. Because as he states on his website, he receives a total of $10,000 through Rockstar’s Bug Bounty Program.

This is definitely an exception: Usually, the developer gives appropriate rewards only for finding security holes.

T0st did not receive any further technical details from Rockstar either. However, he plans to test the new update with the fix as soon as it is released. So we will know exactly how much faster the game loads. In addition, the modder may find out how exactly the GTA Online team is approaching this problem.

This will fix one of what we believe to be the seven biggest problems of GTA 5’s online mode in the foreseeable future. We will explain which ones remain in the linked list.
