GTA VI

Bloomberg has uncovered a bunch of new details about the upcoming Grand Theft Auto game – and if they’re true, then there are some big surprises in store.

Reportedly, the game will feature a female protagonist for the first time in the history of the series! She is said to be Latina and one half of a pair of main characters influenced by Bonnie and Clyde.

Location, Release date & Map

But that’s not all. The game goes on to be set in Vice City and is currently slated for a release between April 2023 and March 2024, which is potentially much sooner than some fans were expecting. Although the time window is relatively large, in the best case it could be in less than a year!

Despite being dubbed GTA 6 by literally everyone, the new title has yet to be given an official name. According to the Bloomberg report, its code name is apparently “Project Americas”.

In addition, the game’s map is said to be very large, with more interiors than the already extensive GTA V. There are said to be plans to add even more cities as post-launch content.

While this all seems a bit sudden, it’s worth bearing in mind that just this month an insider claimed that Rockstar canceled plans for the Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV remakes, as well as the new-gen port of Red Dead Redemption 2 in order to to focus more on GTA VI. Which could indicate that the title is a little further along in development than we thought.

If true, that’s bittersweet news, as all three canceled projects have been awaited by fans for years. Nevertheless, the GTA fans should also hope with a laughing eye that Rockstar really puts its entire energy into the GTA 6 development.
