It looks like virtual reality platform Meta Quest will take its next step this year. A new report in The Verge reveals that the tech giant plans to unveil and ship Meta Quest 3 later this year, in addition to working on two more VR headsets to follow later this year.

The Quest 3, codenamed Stinson, will be twice as light and twice as powerful as the Quest 2, although it will obviously cost a bit more than the current model. It will also include mixed reality experiences to add more immersive elements.

From 2024 a “more accessible” helmet is expected, codenamed Ventura, which will offer the maximum possible power at a reduced price.

Next will be “La Jolla,” the company’s most powerful headset to date, which will feature “photorealistic avatars with codecs.”

As if that weren’t enough, the second generation of Meta connected glasses is planned for this fall, followed by a third generation in 2025, all before the expected arrival of augmented reality glasses, scheduled for 2027.
